Let Us Live So that We May Be Beacons Of Light

We are the brothers of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Phi Upsilon Chapter. Phi Upsilon Chapter is the first internationally recognized intercollegiate fraternity and the first African American Greek Letter Fraternity to be seated at the University of La Verne. Established on January 16, 2024 — one hundred and twenty-four years after the founding of our great Fraternity in 1906 and as the 888th house of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated — Phi Upsilon has upheld a legacy of excellence, scholarship, and leadership. The chapter continues to stand as a pillar of brotherhood and influence within Greek life, honoring the vision of our founders while forging new paths for the future.

On February 17, 2026, the brothers of the Phi Upsilon Chapter were honored by the City of La Verne, California, receiving an official proclamation from the Office of the Mayor and City Council. This distinguished acknowledgment affirms the chapter’s ongoing commitment to excellence and community uplift. We are deeply grateful to the City of La Verne for this meaningful recognition and for believing in the work we continue to do. May the legacy of the 888th House of Alpha live evermore and never come to ruin.
